Madonna con Bambino Round Low Relief

Description

This round low relief is a singular artwork crafted by sculptor Raffaello Romanelli in 1896 and exhibited in the monument for Donatello in the Saint Lawrence Basilica in Florence. The symbolic meaning, hinting at the sense of protection a mother has for her son, elevates the minute attention to detail, particularly evident in the hands’ graceful shape, a trait typical of Romanelli’s style.
